There's something extremely fishy about the "Bob Lee" letter that also includes Al Que's name (as one of the authors?) It just doesn't sound like Al Que. When I searched the internet I found that Mr. Lee had submitted his letter to at least a half dozen area newspapers who had printed it - I suspect because former governor Que's name was also on it. The letter itself strikes me as a hack job foisted off on a vulnerable adult - Mr. Que - who "signed" it without comprehending what it really was. Considering Mr. Que's advanced age, and considering his rambling spoken comments at the CWA09 in Minneapolis, it occurs to me that Mr. Que may no longer be capable of understanding when political operatives are exploiting him and his name.

One more thing - I've known Al Que a long time. I'm the same age as some of his children and we're classmates from college days of thirty plus years ago. There's not a mean bone in Al's body. But that so called "letter" is mean and dirty. I'm saying that Al Que didn't write that letter. Bob Lee did. And, if that's the case, I'm calling Bob Lee the real writer, a liar, fake, fraud and exploitive cad who is ripping off the once good name of one of Minnesota's former governors. There's a word for people who do that. Coward. A low life who didn't sign his own name but instead hijacked someone else's. I can put up with a Bob Lee who would write trash like that letter. I can't abide a coward.

This guy was barely coherent at the assembly. I can only explain his election as governor by speechwriters who dictated EVERY word he said in public. Seriously I think he was an embarrassment to the other side.

Great post about Quie. I was astonished at the things he said during CWA09; I couldn't believe that a man of his stature was so blatantly incorrect in his characterizations of the truth. He either hadn't read or didn't comprehend the ELCA constitution or the pre-Assembly documents that outlined the procedures for all of the agenda items. I'm all for respecting people with whom I disagree, but people like Quie need to be taken to task for misrepresenting the truth. They bear false witness to the work of the Body of Christ and should be called out. Thanks for doing this!
